Water use efficiency: Behavior of upland rice lines under water deficit

نویسندگان

چکیده

Upland rice (Oryza sativa) is affected by several biotic and abiotic factors that limit the yield potential of cultivars. In relation to water deficiency, development drought tolerant efficient cultivars a priority in breeding programs. With this study aimed evaluate agronomic behavior upland lines subjected different irrigations depths aiming for selection genotypes are responsive deficiency. Thirty-four recombinant inbreeded were evaluated an experiment using supplementary sprinkling dry test without additional irrigation during 2015/2016 season. The characteristics grain yield, use efficiency, days flowering, plant height, occurrence panicle blast, spikelets number per spikelet sterility. It was concluded there behaviors level submitted being possible deficit. Drought tolerance complex trait involves features development, good feature be used experts select genotypes, with view Key words:  Oryza sativa, depths, tolerance, inbreed lines.

Crop Water Use Responses of Upland Rice to Differential Water Distribution under Sprinkler Irrigation System

A two-year dry season experiment was conducted at the research farm of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, IITA Ibadan, Nigeria to estimate irrigation water requirements and establish crop water use. Two upland rice varieties (NERICA 2 and NERICA 4) were planted in a randomized complete block design (RCBD). Four treatments based on different water distribution levels were adopt...

RICE CULTURE Effects of Water-Saving Rice Cultivation Methods on Yield, Water Use, and Water-Use Efficiency

Water available for irrigation is declining in many rice-growing regions around the world. Global populations continue to rise increasing crop production demand. Rice production systems must face the dilemma of maintaining or increasing yields with less water available to irrigate. Alternate wetting and drying (AWD) has shown to be an effective tool for water conservation in irrigated rice syst...

Proteomic analysis of upland rice (Oryza sativa L.) exposed to intermittent water deficit.

Rice is the most important crop consumed all over the world. In Brazil, irrigated rice covers 50 % of the rice producing area and is responsible for 75 % of the national production. Upland rice covers most of the remaining area, and is therefore, a very important production system in the country. In the present study, we have used the drought tolerant upland rice variety Três Meses Antigo to in...
